"If it’s true that the eyes are the window to the soul…
my father’s hands were the keeper of that window’s view.”
THE FILMMAKER'S STATEMENT– Charise Studesville
This film is very close to my heart. It was born out of the inevitable realization that, regardless of your feelings of affection and adoration for those you love, in the end, they are human. No more. No less.
It was this realization that drove me to write this story. Without fail, every person who I auditioned, or talked to while writing it, or told about it since, has shared a story of their own dawning of this realization, especially when it comes to fathers. It is a universal story of a very personal rise and fall from grace; and, if both sides are able, a more realistic rise to humanity.
